Lionel Messi purchases a $10.8M house in South Florida

Lionel Messi of Argentina and his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, have paid $10.8 million for an off-market beachfront house in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The transaction was first reported by The Real Deal.

The 10,486-square-foot home is located in the Bay Colony gated enclave at 91 Compass Lane. It has eight bedrooms, 912 bathrooms, a three-car garage, a pool, and two piers.

It’s also close to the Inter Miami Stadium. Messi, who won the World Cup in December for Argentina, joined Inter Miami in July. David Beckham, Jorge and José Mas, as well as other investors, control the team.

The house was built in 1988 and located on 0.44 acres on a cul-de-sac with 170 feet of shoreline. Lori Morris built it, and it was published in Florida Design magazine.

The property has a 27-foot-high domed ceiling, a chef’s kitchen, a home gym and spa, an entertainment area, a home office, and a large 1,600-square-foot master bedroom suite.

Messi was represented by Compass’s Samuel and Donna Simpkin. It was purchased for $9 million by the sellers, John and Stacy Dickerson, in May 2022.

According to The Real Deal, Messi also owns three expensive residences in Sunny Isles Beach.

Messi is now in Bolivia with the Argentina side for a South American World Cup qualifier. According to rumors, it’s unclear whether the superstar will be too “tired” to play.
